On the road to Emmaus, two travelers fail to recognize the risen Christ until he breaks bread and blesses it. How are we to recognize the many faces of Jesus? Throughout Lent, we explored the many faces of Jesus. As we recognize the many faces of God, the road to Emmaus serves as a reminder that we may not be aware of divinity until it reveals itself, and to keep our eyes open, as the divine comes in so many shapes and forms.

Today we witness the risen Christ in each of us, and make a joyful noise to celebrate Christ among us, Christ within us, and Christ surrounding us, now and always.
