At United Churches of Langley, we believe that reconciliation matters.
In this season after Easter, from April 22—May 27, we will be exploring reconciliation in a number of ways—through worship, children and youth programming and dialogue.
The idea of reconciliation acknowledges the fact that there is a separation between two or more parties. It does not prove who is necessarily right or who is wrong rather the goal is to have the relationship restored.
Believing in the need for reconciliation with Aboriginal Peoples is just the beginning. We need to take actions to repair the damage caused by residential schools and ongoing attitudes and in-actions. "Words are not enough," says Justice Murray Sinclair.
Our exploration of reconciliation will end with an actual journey from Fort Langley to Mission, May 25, 26, 27. Our Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation is an event to which all are invited. This walk is an action that we take to show our willingness to learn, grow and make a difference. You can find detailed information about the walk on our webpage and Facebook
