This Sunday’s reading from Matthew offers us a challenge: How do we respond to Jesus when he refuses to hear the request of a woman who is desperate to find healing for her child? The very idea shocks us!
We may be drawn into considering how we respond to those who need help: the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the sick.
The plea to Jesus in this Gospel reading may be a call to us in these times of conflict and economic confusion. It may also be a call to grace. Come with open minds and generous hearts to receive the blessings of God.
