On Remembrance Day, November 11, many members of the Langley community will gather at local cenotaphs to remember and honour those who served our country and made profound sacrifices in the pursuit of freedom and peace.

This year, United Churches of Langley is once again partnering with the Fort Langley Remembrance Day Committee to extend hospitality to those attending the Fort Langley Cenotaph Service of Remembrance. Following the ceremony, which often takes place in chilly weather, attendees are invited to our church hall to warm themselves and to enjoy coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and cookies. Community members will also have the opportunity to visit the historic St. Andrew’s chapel to light a candle or explore the heritage room.

As we strive to engage with and be vital to the community, this act of hospitality stands as both a meaningful service to our neighbours and a joyful witness of God’s love.
